Magnus Carlsen’s FAVOURITE Game From The Queen’s Gambit

Beth Harmon’s game against D.L. Townes was my favourite game in The Queen’s Gambit. See me break down this nail-biting sequence for @NetflixNordic. #TheQueensGambit #MagnusCarlsen #chess

  1. I think magnus become in loved with harmon

  2. This guys needs to use his chess skills in his speech.

  3. This series was perfect except for the ending. When the crowd was applauding her at the end, the writers should've put Mr Shaibel as a vision proudly smiling and applauding her as well. That would make the series a solid 10/10.

  4. That guy really knows his stuff about this chess thing.

  5. The story or serial of the Queen’s Gambit is an unreal story. It is a novel written by a writer only. It is a normal series, like any regular series. It has no facts and there is no real girl named Beth. And the actress who played Beth was She has no knowledge of thygame of chess and after a while she learned chess ♟️♟️♟️♟️♟️ but it's really a rather nice serial 👍 I loved this series…… because I love chess so much

  6. Why are there even subtitles when this guy speaks perfect English?

  7. I wanted someone to explain the matches played in the Queen’s gambit. Because for rare amateur player, it was hard to understand what really happened

  8. It is a beautiful sequence. Positionally, it is so counter-intuitive to think the rook can be entrapped and yet it is.

  9. am i the only one that thought the kings were bishops?

  10. God doesn’t want anybody in hell because He loves us, but you must understand why we deserve hell and why those who refuse to live under His authority will go there. He gave us the law (Ten Commandments) not to make us righteous, but rather to show us our sin (Romans 3:20). We’re not sinners because we sin, but rather we sin because we’re sinners. Sin is the nature of our flesh that we are born with due to the sin of Adam in the garden. For someone to be justified before God they have to be sinless. We’ve all sinned (Romans 3:23), and the the law demands death for those who sin (Romans 6:23). God is righteous, so He must punish our sin, which is what He did through His Son Jesus Christ on the cross. Jesus is Holy and sinless, yet He received our sin when He died on the cross, so that we can be righteous before God (2 Corinthians 5:21). When He died on the cross, He said “It is finished” (John 19:30), which means He paid the full price for all of your sins (past, present, and future) to be forgiven. He was buried and rose again from the dead. God will forgive anybody who puts their full trust in Jesus Christ alone for salvation. We aren’t saved based on our good deeds, but only by the grace of God (Ephesians 2:8-9). His precious blood that He shed is the only reason why we can be forgiven of our sins (Hebrews 9:22). If you confess that Jesus is Lord and believe that God raised Him from the dead, then you’ll be saved (Romans 10:9). You are born-again with the Spirit of Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17), and are not only legally justified before God, but also are accredited His righteous (Romans 4:24). Believers live for Christ now, so get to know Him through His Word. I recommend reading the book of Romans and the gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John), and watching Pastor Joseph Prince’s online sermons!

  11. Watching Magnus explain the game made me realize the genius of the screenplay. Each game matched the theme of the scene. This scene's game is simple, lovely, imaginative matched with Anya's flirty looks, it has a sense of playfulness in it. The end game with the grandmaster was cunning, ruthless, and punishing very in tune with the atmosphere of the story

  12. the knight is so underrated for beginning chess players. honestly, i'd take a knight over a queen

  13. Wouldn’t it be funny if in the chess matches, they just move random pieces to random spots on the board just to make it look legit? Lmao

  14. I love how he sees the game as simply lovely…almost intimate, shy. I just see chess pieces, but I appreciate that at the Magnus level, it’s all about art.

  15. Couldn't the man move his rook to E5 or C5?

  16. You know that Kasparov was an adviser in this series?

  17. this magnus guy could some day be the greatest chess dude in the world 😉

  18. bro said pls enjoy it

    i enjoyed don't kill me

  19. Anyone know what this board he’s using is?

  20. I've always wondered why, when playing the Russian, he forfeited so soon with so many pieces left. Back in the days of my high school chess club, we played until the end.

  21. It must be cool to watch a TV show about a super gifted prodigy and then realise "oh, wait, but I am better than her and I am real"

  22. Thank you for explaining exactly this sequence.
It's hard to keep up with the actual moves when watching the movie but I did notice specifically this ending and that the last move by white looked like a novice mistake. … Moving directly into a fork.
But seeing the whole position there's more to it.

  23. i know im late and no one will probably see this comment, but how does townes lose this game? im a beginner and the king still has some safe squares to move to, no? could someone explain it to me?

  24. "jesus christ Harmon, you're humiliating my Rook"

"He won't have to suffer much longer"

  25. For some reason, I thought Magnus Carlsen would be a prick because I've only heard about him from the recent chess drama, but he actually seems super chill lol And really fair and forgiving to a show that the public enjoys

  26. You should see the game in the Movie of No Game No life anime

  28. He could’ve won by moving the rook 1 right-down from his pawn, then move up one by one (rook & pawn covering it from the enemy rook). Right?

  29. Magnus, have you considered washing your hair? You look a bit smelly in this video tbh. Just saying.

  30. Nice video. But I want also a youtube Beth Harmon's chess channel!

  31. Okay.. help me under stand this.. couldn’t he have moved the Rook to E5, forced the queen to nudge closer to capture, than moved the rook back to H5. Depending on how she would have gone about getting the rook in the long run it’s definitely delaying the inevitable, but wouldn’t he have stood a chance at queening his pawn in that particular process? It’s late and I just finished the series. Also not a “chess master master” or ever pretend to be. I just have an understanding of the game. Help me understand what I’m not seeing here.. thanks🙏🏼

  32. Why can't he place the rook on G4?

  33. I like Magnus to play against queens gambit

  34. That is why i love Magnus love from india💖💖

  35. I’m acting like I know what he is saying 😂

  36. The series shows that the genius it takes to think and play chess that way does not necessarily carry over well in everyday life.

  37. Hah he seems like such a nice guy. Something about his humility and expertise is enjoyable to watch.
