This is a great chess opening for beginners and intermediate players: The Scandinavian Defense. The strategy, tactics, and tricks are great.

I always play thing when I'm black but I suck at the endgame. I'm 400 elo 😅
they way you explain while playing is very good, nice
thank you for this
Fun fact – the oldest chess game that we have on record (with the current rules) from 1475 uses a Scandinavian Defense
bro is comparing blundering a queen and sending your kids on public transportation😭😭
Me watching this am I a GM h3, g4 and e6 are the moves I would play it looks good as you are developing while attacking the bishop.
23:24 White pins black queen with Bg4. Black loses.
I tried this 100 times and 0 of them i had similiar situation i don't like this explaining very much
This is a VERY good tutorial. I didn't think I would like this opening, but I should add to to my Caro Kahn now that I finished your course(s).
Imagine your just a Gotham subscriber and you play the moves at 6:35 at 100 elo and you just get banned thanks a lot Gotham keep up the good work on getting me banned
Of course this is a joke why so serious man?
what should i play if instead of taking white plays knight c3
What about queen g2?
By taking on he meant in the game, right?
What’s with the or at 4:30 lol
So I saw this video right, and was like nahhh, I play italian, I don't need to know this, then went and started a game of chess… IMMEDIATELY SOMEONE PLAYS SCANDINAVIAN…. And I'm like, great xD
lol I tried playing the Scandi def before watching this vid, blundered my blk Queen leftward and got mated in 9.
…by a girl who only used 20sec on the clock
"Ohhh, nooo! Nooo noo noo nooo! Noo noooo Nooo!"
My favorite opening
accidently play often this one 😀 messing around…
with nooooo ideas^^""
much gambit…
so i need karo-kan annnnd scandinavian? damm…
back to the last opening video 😀
What if white goes kt d4 for the discovery attack on the queen
10:20 isn't pawn B4 a blunder? Knight can take the pawn
Pawn to B4 looks like a terrible move to me since it's hanging and the knight on c6 can pick it up for free. Why not do that?
This video is probably part of the the reason waves of Scandi sods come to boost my rating on Lichess now and again by hanging their Rambo queens 7 turns in.
What if white plays b4 attack on queen
Remember kids, what you learn on youtube is also what the opponent learns on youtube
Everything like fun
the big bad part is if they play kf3, they're planning icbm gambit. Then it goes exactly like you said, but knight takes fork, then check with bishop, then taking your queen.
25:38 should go knight to C3 hmm?
when he gave his queen away😂😂😂nobody saw that coming
15:20 fire alarm is going crazy xD
0:30, 1:46, 2:20, 7:08, 8:27, 11:49
Plz increase your voice
What if they dont eat the white pawn and put knight to c3?
what if white pushes. i faced the scandinavian today and pushed the pawn it was a book move i never tried
What if your opponent doesn't play e4
Apparently I've been using this all along, even without the knowledge of how it should be executed. Such a popular variant, yet never seen it from the enemy and heard of the name. What a coincidence.
Came here to find out how to counter scandanavian defense
I have everyone that plays this with a burning passionate spite. I watched this to see how to counter it.
I constantly play The Scandinavian Defense… I love the pace the game starts to go at.
Okay I know I’m 2 years late on this, but I just started playing chess and this video was super helpful. Particularly the first match with one of your subs and how he blundered the queen and rook. I ALWAYS miss diagonal threats like that for some reason and I would have made the exact same mistake. I missed a easy checkmate in a game yesterday because I forgot my queen could just take a pawn diagonally. So yeah, super helpful video, if only because it’s helping me remember how OP the queen is.
I keep trying to play the openings that Levy teaches, but everyone that I play plays a move that Levy didn’t teach 😭
As an ELO 700 player, I have a 78% winrate using Scandinavian defense. This video is tremendous!!!!

Me: Bruh, seriously😐
I apologize for my silly question, but why wouldn’t I move my pawn to b 4 if I am white and try to take the queen? Yes, I can be put in check, but I can simply move my queen in front and trade pieces if I wanted to. Yes, I might lose the piece of a pawn, but then I move my bishop and defend the night and I already have more development. I don’t understand how this works as a defense?
Please please please give me something to play against 1e4 d5 2e5 idk what to do c5? D4? What is the theory then it's out of line right
“Welcome back to the Scandinavian Defense” had me rollin 😂
Gotham subs hang their queen every single episode bro 💀
At 10;55 its actually best according to engine to push the pawn
Under a 1000 After taking the pwn takes, black always gives a check. That shouldve been the first theory you covered
