The Smith Morra Gambit is a sharp and aggressive line for white against the very popular Sicilian Defense. Most players that play e4 run into the Sicilian and if they want to get out of book lines and take an aggressive approach the Smith Morra Gambit is a great way to go.

How should you play it out if he doesn't take your d pawn at all and just defends his pawn?
You talk far too much in generalities and cliches!
Is black supposed to play like an idiot? If he doesn't want to place his pawn on e6 to protect the f-pawn, why wouldn't he play e5 in one go? You have him wasting a whole tempo for no reason at all.
I really enjoy these videos, thanks for posting. For those saying the Smith-Morra Gambit is unsound and "statistically inferior" you need to remember that only applies at the GM levels and unless you are a GM it makes no sense for you to simply dismiss this gambit. I have met no Sicilian player who enjoys defending against this.
Also, just so you know, the line you present isn't really the Chicago defense although it is similar. The Chicago defense is 1. e4 c5 2. d4 cxd4 3. c3 dxc3 4. Nxc3 Nc6 5. Nf3 d6 6. Bc4 e6 7. O-O a6 8. Qe2 b5 9. Bb3 Ra7 and you come close to transposing into it but not quite: you're missing the white Q on e2 and black's rook and knight on a7 and c6 respectively.
Kecvn, when will you stop saying "from here" every other sentence? There is nothing else in chess literature to match it for annoyance.
You said you like Sicilian in the other video
Morra Gambit is good in Blitz or Rapid but not very good in over the board games. Black can also return the pawn with d3. Problem is with proper development and Bishop Fianchetto on King Side, Black can defend but cannot do the usual fire works of Scillian. White's build up is the same whatever position Black plays f1 bishop to c4, Rooks on c1 and d1 and Queen on e2. whether Dark square Bishop should go to e3 or g5 or e4 depends on Black's move. At some point though white lost the tempo gain earlier by having to play h pawn to h3.
7:16 Why Qxd3? not Bxd3 developing a piece.
Maybe I played someone who did not know what they were doing but I played black against smith morra gambit and declined taking d4 in the beginning and played d 6 after white played d4 and he got pwned. they played bb5+ and it was all down hill after that. I agree with what you said in the beginning, as white Sicilian is very frustrating against good opponents and it is good to see some fresh options to consider when you encounter it.
What if 1.e4 1.c5 2.d4 2.e6?
I will try it!
What is 4) bc4, similar to the danish gambit?
4:06 I prefer I funny move, Bb5 with the odea of capturing a pawn via Nxe5
I think it would not work
even he use sicilian defense
because there's a trap that could counter that "Smith Morra Gambit"
What's the two pawns gambit called?
vs the Sicilian-accelerated dragon its a NO GO!
I started seeing this and i had to come see why someone would do this.maybe the players weren't strong with this gambit or maybe i just perfectly countered without knowing but i dont see it beimg advantageous.
Very good explanation of the objectives of the gambit from the offset.
Very similar to the blackmar diemer gambit
He said aggressive!
Drink!
As Black, for beating the Smith-Morra Gambit in Sicilian Defense: https://youtu.be/CZMWZpWjBXc

You are suggesting me to move my 16 pices "At the same time" ?
guys any one has this on I book : Mayhem in the Morra! Book by Marc Esserman please send it to me fontipsirdanan1@gmail.com I need it really badly
-"But at tha same taime", 😀
If opponent doesn’t accept, do you just take their pawn?
Good information, however, you're down three pawns.
what happens if you capture the pawn on the third move with your queen?
IS MAYHEMS IN THE MORRA A GOOD BOOK OF THIS AGGRESIVE GAMBIT ?? IF IT IS NOT WHICH BOOK DO YOU RECOMMEND??
They call me "kevin at the same time". (No relation to "Jimmy two times").
Still helping in 2021
This Gambit is good for blitz games.
Smithereens
"at the same time"
It sounds like white was always bound to win. He gets to do so many things "at the same time"
What if the player leaves the pawn on d4?
At the same time…
at 4:57 after Bb3 Nc6 is black's best move, not d6
Love a strong American accent from a Chess player hell yeah
i am the most aggressive player in my elementary school. I have already beaten my chess teacher, but keep losing in tournaments. This is a great video as I 90 percent of the time always run into the Sicilian Defense. This video helps me so much. Three cheers for chesswebsite! Go chesswebsite! Go chesswebsite! Go chesswebsite! Wooo HOOO!
can you do the Sicilian most aggressive opening next time?
